Salt Water Cafe is totally a European styled restaurant rooted at Churchgate and Bandra. It serves the people of Mumbai with a unique dining experience all day long with soft, bright lighting and slow, soothing jazz music. Which, indeed, makes the ambiance worthwhile and pretty much lively for a scrumptious meal. Moving ahead to the most interesting part, i.e. The Food. As soon as you order your dish the waiter gets you a jute bag full of bread platter to munch on. Service being quick you don’t have to worry about your order. Plus with a wide range of drinks available on the table you can choose anything that suits your mood. However, we started off with the Salt Water Caesar Chicken Salad, which was a lovely blend of chicken and fresh cut veggies. Later, we ordered spaghetti for the main course which was perfect right from the presentation to the quantity to the taste and tenderness of chicken and everything in it. Also, Champagne Chicken + Smoked Scamorza Risotto which was smoky and peppery adding a different taste in our mouth. After enjoying this delicious Entrée we decided to order some desserts. Chocolate fondant with raspberry/melon sorbet is indeed a must try for all. One spoon into it and the chocolate just gushes out stopping your heart for a bit. Also, flourless chocolate fudge with caramel crunch ice-cream is an another great way to end your meal. However, the food, the music and the ambiance comes with a price which is a tad high. Approx 2000 bucks for two. The service is pretty good, plus the place is average crowded. The only problem is that the vegetarians might find less options on the menu. So non-vegetarians, the place has a lot to offer you’ll. We think it’s a great place to come along with friends for drinks and a romantic dinner or with family to enjoy some special occasions.
