Money? No, no you’ve got it all wrong. It’s ambiance, service, music and the most important thing, the food. Read on to learn more:
This week we had a lot of stuff on our plate and one of them was meeting the Navi Mumbai Foodies and the result turned out to be very good, we had a great time over their roll-a-coaster ride. After travelling for nearly 2 hours we were in Navi Mumbai, to be specific at the venue i.e. Pot Pourri.
Pot Pourri is located right beside the entrance of the Inorbit mall at Vashi and is in fact the popular ‘Go To Place’ for all the shoppers and strollers.
People said that the place was recently renovated. So we had no idea how it looked earlier, but we don’t even want to know, you know why? Because, what we saw and experienced was very lively and we loved it 100%. Also, they had wall décor with food quotes. Isn’t that fantastic?
We were thinking, Pot Pourri being a Café would clearly have a la carte set up, but it had something more to offer and there was a whole buffet being served to the customers. Which we think is an excellent thing to do as it satisfies those who like to have a whole lot (If you know what we mean).
So now we had to choose between a la carte and a full fledged buffet. Guess what we chose? And This was a Wednesday Special Buffet
Yes, we decided to hog on the buffet. The buffet costs INR 650/- which is quite affordable as with the wide range of cuisines the rate is fair enough and worth.
One noticeable thing, actually there were many things, but this was the first thing that we noticed and which caught our eye, it was the way in which they had displayed the name of the dishes on a rubber cork and on the wine bottle. This display was quite unique in its own way.
Moving ahead to the buffet and starting off with the soups and salads we decided to ditch the usual and the most favored – Chicken and Tomato Soup and try the Chilled Cucumber and Coconut Cream Soup which in our opinion was quite slurping.
Now up to the salads, which were present in 4-5 variants (As if they kept in mind people’s choice in true sense). So there were Vegetable salads for a health conscious person, i.e. Grilled Vegetable and Pineapple salad and the Mediterranean Eggplant and Barley salad.
Also, there was a Veg Pasta Salad for a pasta lover.
Then there was Potato and Mushroom Salad (Everybody likes potato, don’t they? Who doesn’t love potato? At least we haven’t met a person who dislikes potato).
Especially for the non vegetarians there was Baked Chicken and Leek Salad and Chilled Seafood and Crispy Rice Salad.
Just to add something more to our table, we had options like Fresh Fruit Juices, Iced Tea (Lemon and Peach), Flavored Smoothies (Mango and Blueberry). Our suggestion is to go for the blueberry smoothie.
Moving towards the Entrée. There were Mini Chicken Hot Dogs with caramelized onions which were pretty good.
Chicken Bagels and Chicken Bruschetta both had a nice crunchyness to it. One must surely try this.
Zucchini Rolled Pickled Chicken was surely a big no no for us. Zucchini gave us a dry taste which we didn’t enjoy much.
(The same dishes were available in veg also. So veggies you’re needs are taken care of)
Next on the list was Cheese Fondue. We simply love it and Pot Pourri didn’t disappoint us with regard to Cheese fondue.
To dip in there was Mushroom, Zucchini, Baby corn, bread pieces and carrots.
In-between the Appetizers and Main Course we sipped and dug into some flavored water with Mint and Citru plus the Pot Pourri Special burger -Thai chili Spiced Grilled Chicken Burger with sour cream and Chicken Wings.
And trust us it was all delectable.
Now running towards the main course which had a wide range of variety too. The Thai Vegetable Stew looked quite bland, but it had a very strong yummy Thai flavor as it was rich with the perfect spice (Those chefs).
The Harissa Panner Forestier was quite similar in taste to the normal paneer.
Grilled Fish with Salsa Rosa had Fish Fillets which were very soft and tender but being it seasoned with garlic it was not possible for us to eat more.
You should try Oregano Rubbed Citrus Grilled Chicken as it was something different than the normal chicken dishes that we usually eat.
Steam Rice and Parsley Potato and the Steamed Noodles can be easily paired up with any of the above mentioned gravy. So all you got to do is pick up a lot of rice and noodles and match it up with your choice of gravy and you’re all sorted out.
Now to the best part of every meal i.e. it was time for something sweet and we were in awestruck by what Pot Pourri had to offer. But after getting it on the plate the excitement turned into dejection. As Oreo cupcakes were just like a Mawa cake with Cream frosting of an oreo cookie on it.
Chocolate Mousse is one thing which we don’t quite prefer in desserts but this one had a nice creamy texture to it with a cheesecake kind of base. It was so soft that it just Melted in our mouth within seconds. You can’t just have one tiny piece and be satisfied with its taste, you are very likely to grab one more piece (We had three).
And now if you are the one who keeps a track of the no. of calories you intake and want to end the meal in a healthy way, then specially for you there were fresh fruits as a part of the dessert.
The buffet was a feast to the eye as well as to the plate. So choose wisely as there’s a lot to eat (Wink).
The magicians on the floor and of the kitchen i.e the staff and the chefs.
The only setback the cafe had is that if you go on a Wednesday and choose buffet it might get a little congested as too many people try to jump over and dash into you (So drive your plate carefully).
We highly recommend this place as it delivers almost everything that a foodie would like i.e. from food to ambiance to the service.
They say Eat Carbs, Drink Beer, Stay Happy whereas we say #StayHungy #ClickTuckers
